Shanghai Chinese Restaurant in Lake Jackson

Very good service, I couldn't ask for better. The food was so fresh and so good, the soda was perfectly carbonated to make your throat burn and your eyes water from ecstacy. I wish I remember the name of our waiter but he was the tall black guy and he had a trainee with him, you could obviously see that the waiter is passionate about his job. Very good job I will be bragging about this service to all of my friends and family. This is the place to go. 💯💯

Good place to have fun and family. They have very cold beers 🤤. What I did not like about the place is that when they asked for a combination of pepper stake, they took me the rice on one plate and the pepper stake on another, so they charged me the plate twice. There is no dish like the ones we used to order from a plate of rice and meat next to it or vice versa. They sell you the rice dish that comes out in more than 10 dollars and the pepper stake in another $ 12 or more. I think they can do better I always give a second chance. But the taste was good and I don't complain about the good service. It was spectacular

Shanghai has been here over 30 years. Food and service is very good. Eggrolls are the best in the area. Fried rice is worth driving 50 miles for.

Food was good. 1st time there. We got there late and was a party of 9. So service wasn't real good, hoping next time will be better.

To start off, the food arrived 20 minutes late and items were missing from our order. We ordered the Pu Pu Platter and they forgot the shrimp, however I'm very glad they did since it was similar to hush puppies that weren't fully fried + the shrimp still had the shell on. Not to mention, they forgot to give us soy sauce which we specifically asked for. If I were to describe the taste of the rest of the food in the Pu Pu Platter it would be grease, grease, and more grease, along with a slight chemical taste to the crab + shrimp. Nothing stood out, and it was extremely underwhelming. Not to mention, the price was way too high for the food we got and the service we received.

Ordered via Waitr app tonight and it was disappointing. Spent over $100 and when I called to let them know I didnt receive many things they were less than helpful. Service is key especially now so when you forget the dipping sauces for both orders of dumplings, the fish sauce for the Vietnamese salad and ignore my request to have fish sauce for the vietnamese egg rolls and bean sprouts in the fried rice that is not great. Sorry Shanghai this will be my last order just based on your manager's attitude when I called back. Far too many choices out there.

ordered this through waitr. I took a couple bites of my egg rolls and then realized their was raw chicken in them. The egg drop soup also smells really weird. All she offered me was an order of replacement egg rolls that I can’t even get because i’m at work. the dumplings are okay but i’m just not happy overall

Love this restaurant! Drive an hour just to eat here! Egg rolls are delicious! A must have. The menu has been upgraded with a wider variety of choices. The pictures shown are lunch portions. Still very filling.

Our first and last visit! Our food was terrible! To top it off...no social distancing last week. We were seated right behind a gentleman constantly coughing, and he was just a few inches away from us.

I was very upset with my order last night and paid $49.36. I didn't like the egg drop soup to start with. I ordered broccoli and beef. The beef was to thick and tuff and the broccoli was under cooked and hard. Then the wonton was cooked to long and you couldn't hardly eat them. I was so disappointed. You pay that kind of money and I won't be coming back.

Literally drove from Houston/ Galveston on my way back home to San Antonio to hit my old go to from my youth. Still amazing. Still the best egg rolls I've ever had. Haven't changed in 30 years.

Easy access to restaurant, located right off the frontage road of 288. Restaurant is clean and service was friendly and attentive. Less than 10 minute wait for food and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend the fried dumplings.
